Dignity first
People who come to us are partners, never cases. Support is offered without judgement and without conditions attached to belief or background.
Registration No. (IČO): 26563096
We are a registered civic association based in Kladno, working so that every family and every young person in our town has somewhere to turn, something to join, and someone who knows their name.
To foster a supportive, inclusive environment in which every individual and family in Kladno has real access to community support, education and opportunities for growth — regardless of income, origin or circumstance.
A town where no one grows up isolated, where neighbours are a resource rather than strangers, and where civic participation is a normal, everyday habit rather than an exception.

People who come to us are partners, never cases. Support is offered without judgement and without conditions attached to belief or background.
We work where we live. Our programmes answer needs identified by Kladno residents, schools and social workers, not by distant strategy documents.
Every koruna is accounted for and published. Our activities, governance and finances are open to members and the public.
Real change in a family or a young life takes years. We commit to staying, not to quick campaigns.
2007
Registered as an občanské sdružení under identification number IČO 26563096 by a group of parents, teachers and youth workers from Kladno. Activities began with a single weekly art and homework club in a borrowed room of a local school.
2010
After repeated requests from parents at the club, we opened regular consultation hours for families facing debt, housing insecurity and school difficulties, in cooperation with municipal social workers.
2014
A structured training programme for new volunteers was launched, giving secondary school students and adults a clear path from first interest to independent responsibility.
2016
Our neighbourhood cleanups and cultural days expanded beyond one district, becoming an annual fixture in cooperation with the City of Kladno and local schools.
2019
Following changes to Czech civil law, the association completed its transition in the public register while retaining its original identification number, mission and membership base.
Today
Four continuous programme areas, more than 150 active volunteers, and long-standing cooperation with schools, the municipality and regional non-profit partners.
Smile is a member-led association. The General Assembly of members is the highest body; it approves the annual report, the budget and the programme plan, and it elects the Board for a three-year term. The Board meets monthly and appoints programme coordinators responsible for day-to-day delivery.
Represents the association legally, chairs Board meetings and holds overall responsibility for delivery of the approved programme plan.
Oversees finances, bookkeeping, grant reporting and the preparation of the annual financial statement for the General Assembly.
Elected volunteers who supervise programme quality, safeguarding practice and cooperation with municipal partners.
Lead the youth workshops, family support service, community events and volunteer training respectively, supported by a small part-time administrative team.
Independently reviews accounts and compliance, and reports findings directly to the General Assembly.
Občanské sdružení Smile is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation established exclusively for purposes of public benefit. We are not affiliated with any political party, commercial group or religious institution. The association generates no profit for its members; all resources — including membership fees, grants, and non-cash contributions — are used solely to deliver the programmes described on this website. Our statutes, annual activity report and financial statement are available on request at our registered office.
