Legal status

Občanské sdružení Smile is a civic association established and operating under the law of the Czech Republic, registered in the public register maintained by the competent court. Following the recodification of Czech civil law, associations of this type are recorded as a zapsaný spolek; the organisation retains its original identity, identification number, mission and membership.

Registration details

Official name: Občanské sdružení Smile. Identification number (IČO): 26563096. Registered office: Františka Kloze 2609, 272 01 Kladno 1, Czechia. Contact: bowman-bunnyq@gmx.com, +420 702 845 731.

Non-profit, non-governmental character

The association is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organisation established exclusively for purposes of public benefit. It carries out no business activity as its principal purpose, distributes no profit or assets to its members, officers or founders, and is independent of any political party, commercial enterprise or religious institution.

Governing bodies

The General Assembly of members is the highest body of the association. It approves the statutes, the annual activity and financial report, and the programme plan, and elects the Board for a three-year term. The Board, headed by the Chair as the statutory representative, manages the association between assemblies. A supervisory member independently reviews accounts and compliance and reports to the General Assembly.

Use of resources

All income — membership contributions, grants from municipal, regional, national and European schemes, and non-cash contributions from individuals and companies — is used solely to fund the programmes and the operating costs necessary to deliver them. Accounting is maintained in accordance with Czech accounting legislation for non-profit entities.

Public accountability

The association publishes an annual report describing its activities and finances. The statutes, annual reports and financial statements are available for inspection at the registered office and are provided on written request to members, partners, donors and public authorities.
